A group of top students in Abilene Christian University's May 2023 graduating class were honored April 27 in the Chapel on the Hill during the University Scholars awards ceremony. Students are nominated by faculty within each department, and ACU's faculty senate elects the top 50 students across all departments. Eligibility for the honor requires a 3.5 or higher GPA, demonstrated knowledge and skill in research appropriate to their field, and at least 90 credit hours at the time of selection.

Two ACU students receive $40,000 Sumners scholarships

Abilene Christian University's College of Business Administration has selected 18 students for the next cohort of Dukes Scholars in Finance, funded by the Dr. William P. and Janie B. Dukes Excellence in Finance Endowment.

Tamil Kayode-Adele of Midland, Texas, was recently awarded a $30,000 scholarship to Abilene Christian University by The Sumners Foundation. Adele is among 46 undergraduate students nationally to receive a Sumners scholarship in 2024. Scholarship selections are based on academic excellence, civic engagement and a capacity for leadership, and the funds apply toward the students' junior and senior years.

Abilene Christian University student Holly Reichling, a senior multimedia major from San Antonio, was a production intern for the TV show The Chosen on set in Utah this summer. Reichling also received the Rotenberry Dream Big Scholarship as a result of landing the internship. M.K. Rotenberry ('17) is a graduate of ACU's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and now works as a sports producer for CBS. She created the scholarship program last year, and when she heard of Reichling's internship this summer, she decided to give her the award. "It felt better than Christmas," Reichling said. "I was just in shock that both were actually happening. I am just extremely grateful for the opportunity and MK Rotenberry's kindness and generosity."

Three Abilene Christian University students are among 43 students nationwide named as 2022 Sumners Scholars by the Sumners Foundation. Each student receives a $30,000 scholarship.

Six students were chosen to be a host or hostess for this year's upcoming Sing Song at Abilene Christian University on March 31 and April 1, 2023 at Moody Coliseum.

Abilene Christian University sophomore Emma Jaax, an accounting and finance major from Boerne, won the Battle of Flowers Oratorical Contest in San Antonio in February and will ride in the Battle of Flowers Parade Friday, April 8.

Five students were chosen to be a student director for this year's upcoming Sing Song at Abilene Christian University on March 31 and April 1, 2023 at Moody Coliseum.
